On June 28th and 29th, 2024, Kaliana had the honor of participating in the 5th edition of the COMESA Federation of Women in Business (COMFWB), a prestigious event held at the Novotel Convention & Spa in Antananarivo. This gathering, which brought together entrepreneurs and economic leaders from 21 African countries, was the perfect occasion to celebrate and promote women’s entrepreneurship on a continental scale. The event was sponsored by the First Lady of Madagascar, adding a symbolic and prestigious dimension to the meeting.

At the Trade Fair, we had the opportunity to present our unique products to an international audience, with visitors from all over Africa. We showcased our handcrafted creations, such as our elegant smocked dresses for children and raffia products, which are true testaments to Malagasy craftsmanship. It was a valuable moment of sharing and exchange, where we were able to build relationships with other entrepreneurs and highlight our commitment to local craftsmanship and "vita malagasy."

The event was also marked by insightful conferences and discussions on the challenges and opportunities faced by women entrepreneurs within COMESA. These conferences provided a platform to reflect on ways to support female entrepreneurship and better understand the crucial role women play in the continent’s economic development. For Kaliana, these exchanges were an inspiring source and strengthened our determination to continue promoting Malagasy culture while supporting women’s empowerment.
